Update firmware steps:

1.Connect VVDI – MB TOOL to PC with USB cable

2.Choose VVDI – MB TOOL firmware version from Firmware List

3.Press button Update Online, wait the progress end

4.If failed to get firmware list or get something like “communicate with server error!” while update your device, close antivirus and firewall programs, try again. Change your internet provider once failed again

DON’T shutdown your PC or disconnect USB cable while update device

This function require internet support

Use “Menu ->Update Online ->Software Update” to obtain VVDI-MB TOOL latest software version, the software version require firmware version etc.

If there’s no display for software version, shutdown your firewall and antivirusu programs, try again.

This is a guide for you to use Xhorse VVDI2 Commander Key Programmer to add a new ID46 transponder key for VW Touareg 2008. Below are the steps!

Step1. Open VVDI2 software, choose VW software.

Turn ignition on with the original key. Click “Key Learn” on top menu bar. Choose “4^th Immobilizer System- VW” and “Touareg”.

Step2. Tick the option “Get component security from engine via ECU”. Click “Auto detect from ECU”. Read component security bytes and PIN.

And now VVDI2 commander will remind you “the 7th byte CS code may be wrong, find it from the working key”, click “OK”.

Step3. Click “Make Dealer Key” below “make dealer key with working key”.

Insert a working key into VVDI2 coil. And the correct 7^th byte is read out as picture shows. Click “Yes” and input it to replace the old one.

Step4. Click “Make Dealer Key” below “make dealer key with 7 bytes CS”. Put the new ID46 transponder chip into VVDI2 coil. It will show “Key made OK and locked”.

Step5. Click “Key Learning”, turn off ignition, remove the original key, then insert the new key and turn on ignition. Switch ignition off, remove the new key then use it to turn ignition on. New key programmed successfully by VVDI2 key programmer!

Q1: What is computer requirement of Xhorse MVCI 3 in 1?

A1: Windows OS (operating system) requiremet: Windows XP; 2 CPU,  2.00GB of RAM, 40GB of Local Disk (C :) 

Q2: will MVCI do Honda immobilizer programming for PCM replacement?

A2: MVCI is mainly used to diagnose, it is unstable to program.

Q3: Does MVCI work with Acura? Does it support CAN BUS? Can it diagnose ABS, SRS and Body?

A3: We suggest you not use MVCI to diagnose Acura; the best Acura diagnostic tool is Honda HDS, GNA600 and allscanner.

Q4: When I click "MVCI firmware update tool", it always says "Unable to connect to update server", the firmware version is V1.4.1.

A4: MVCI 3 IN 1 cant update firmware, do not click "MVCI firmware update tool"; it only supports update Toyota software.

Q5: After install MVCI HDS Program on Windows XP, it can read the DTC code, but it fails to clear DTC.

A5:  There are 3 possible reasons:

1) There is a poor contact between the USB interface and the computer.

2) MVCI HDS driver is not successfully installed

3) MVCI doesn’t work with your car model.

Q6:  I installed MVCI HDS software, and the green light flashes, the MVCI is activated, then I click the "select car model" button, MVCI starts to test, then proceed to the window of mileage and car model selection, I go on enter the list of subsystem and choose the subsystem, no response, all the PGM light, ABS light and SRS light flash, but Honda software prompts "No communication, please check whether the key is insert or MVCI is connected" 

A6: you can enter into the list of subsystem, it means MVCI can work, but it has no response after select the subsystem, it means MVCI cant work with this car model, advice you select the other car model to diagnose or advice you use Honda HDS, GNA600 to diagnose Honda, HDS and GNA600 is best Honda diagnostic tool.

All begin with a conversation..

Im new to VVdi2 so still learning what it can do .

have a citigo 2012 key to do.

dash is 1st 920 960 g I think its the same as the up and mi . 

I think its a marelli dash if I select the only marrelli from menu it does read something and the is hex in the window but then says fail. I struggle to know which dash type to select. 

Q1 will vvdi do this
Q2 which dash to select.
Q3 if it cant do it can I read epprom precode and use vagcom. 

any other tips.

Pre coded CS to key OK.

(Bug 2 failed to add key with any of the three methods listed.)

add key to dump method actually killed dash

and all keys failed to start.

Needed to put Back original dump back to dash to get key 1 to work again.

Conclusion:
Its my first run out with xhorse vvdi2. This is going to be a really powerful tool when the bugs a sorted. Bit scary to used while it is still buggy. Hope this help someone
