Rename Network name in Windows 10 - Thats what we gonna see in this post...

In our last post, we had seen how to disable wifi sense in windows 10, i asked you to add some thing

to the end of the network name, but i hadnt shown how to change network name [SSID] in windows

10.

if you are thinking about how to change network name in windows 10 or how to rename network connection windows 10 or even how to change ethernet name windows 10 that was active network name windows 10, windows 10 delete network profile..then,

We can use many methods to change network name like using gpo ,registry edtitor and powershell..

Using Powershell is a little bit advanced technique, so we use registry editor in this post.

How to rename a network in Windows 10 

Just follow the below steps..



1) Open registry editor

2) Go to the following Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionNetworkList

3) When you expanded the networklist, you will see the Profiles (folder) Key

4) Click on it and expand.

5) Here comes the main part..

There many be many subkeys (folders) with a very long name,when you expand the profiles folders, which depends on the number of network you had connected.

Click on each network, and on your right pane you will see the profilename text.

Check every subkeys until the profilename data matches the name of your network..

For example : If your network name was logesh, then you will find profilename as logesh (on your right pane) on any of the folders that were under Profiles subkey.

6) Restart your PC

When you restarted again, you will see the network named now..

One of the VDM UCANDAS WIFI automotive diagnostic tool reported that he failed to setup the WIFI wireless connection with vehicle. Following is the properly solution provided.         

The most possible reason is that he did wrong configuration/operation. Please follow the correct procedure below:

1). First you should connect the VDM system with vehicle

2). Wait the VDM power to feed with power supply for 20 seconds

3). Until the VDM system finish initialization

4). Search the WIFI name “ucandas”

5). Open VDM UCANDAS software

6). The UCANDAS will automatically match the WIFI wireless connection

So if you run the software before searching WIFI, you will fail to setup the WIFI.

Important Tips:

V3.84 VDM UCANDAS en francais has WIFI name change/correction function. Locate in the “Setting” menu, users are able to set the WIFI name to ucandas 123*** in order to identify different UCANDAS software.

If the WIFI name is changed, you are required to enter the password 87654321 manually

After that first connect the VDM with vehicle and wait 20 seconds

Next start searching the ucadas WIFI name you have changed.

Then you open the V3.4 software, the WIFI wireless connection will automatically setup.
