to the end of the network name, but i hadnt shown how to change network name [SSID] in windows

10.

if you are thinking about how to change network name in windows 10 or how to rename network connection windows 10 or even how to change ethernet name windows 10 that was active network name windows 10, windows 10 delete network profile..then,

We can use many methods to change network name like using gpo ,registry edtitor and powershell..

Using Powershell is a little bit advanced technique, so we use registry editor in this post.

How to rename a network in Windows 10 

Just follow the below steps..



1) Open registry editor

2) Go to the following Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionNetworkList

3) When you expanded the networklist, you will see the Profiles (folder) Key

4) Click on it and expand.

5) Here comes the main part..

There many be many subkeys (folders) with a very long name,when you expand the profiles folders, which depends on the number of network you had connected.

Click on each network, and on your right pane you will see the profilename text.

Check every subkeys until the profilename data matches the name of your network..

For example : If your network name was logesh, then you will find profilename as logesh (on your right pane) on any of the folders that were under Profiles subkey.

6) Restart your PC

When you restarted again, you will see the network named now..

In our last post, we had seen how to put windows 10 pc to sleep, but the problem is some of our

users said, they cant find sleep option in windows 10 or more commonly sleep missing in 

Windows 10 and they are increasingly asking on how to enable missing sleep option in Windows 

10 pc.

Which, made me to write an separate post on it..,If you are searching for how to fix sleep option 

that was not showing in power menu then i hope this guide solves your problem too.

Lets make a point clear.. You dont need to download software to fix missing sleep option in your

Windows 10 PC. As what we need to do is just configure a simple setting which we gonna see in the

below steps..

So, just follow the below steps, at the end you will see yourself fixing the no sleep option problem in Windows 10...

1) Open Control Panel.

Step 3 : Click on Hardware and Sound.

Step 4 : Find and Click On Change What the Power buttons do.

"the Option Change What the Power button do Will be Available under Power Options on right pane.

Step 5 : Click on Change Settings that Are unavailable on the Window that Opens.

Quick Access is the option used to quickly access our favorite folders or files. But they hadnt

included an option that asks us is this files need to be displayed in quick access or not, atleast it

would be better for some if they had designed without quick access as well. But they hadnt done

that, instead they did a program inside windows which will automatically display the recently 

opened files in quick access of Windows 10.

So,if you wish to delete quick access history of Windows 10 or clear quick access history of

Windows 10 (i think both are same??) here is an guide on how to do.. Remember you dont need

registry or gpo to carry out the following task.

How to clear or reset quick access recent files history in Windows 10

1) Press Windows + E Keys ( its a shortcut for Opening This PC)

2) Click on the File tab, which will be on the top left corner

3) When you clicked it will display open new Window,Open command prompt,etc options..

Click on the Change folder and Search Options.



4) it Will open a new window, named folder Options.

On that,click on the general tab and find an option called Privacy

5) under Privacy, you can see two checkbox options

Show recently opened files  in quick access and show frequently used folders in Quick Access

6) Just uncheck the boxes and click Apply and OK.

Powershell the common tool that gonna replace our Command Prompt in Windows 10 Creators

Update have several features. I had already said, what is Powershell, how it is different from the

Command prompt in our earlier post [ you can check it here]. As far as my Knowledge it is

important to check latest version of Powershell and to update Powershell, because they constantly

making some changes like inclusion of Some Commands and finding easier way to run the script.

So, its very important to download or update powershell to enjoy coolest features. Though third

party tools provides great look its still a safe place to stick with the one that comes with our

Operating System Windows 10.

How to Check Powershell version in Windows 10

We can check version of Powershell using Command or cmdlets, Which means we can check the

version of Powershell using Command Prompt, also we can check the version of Powershell using 

Powershell command.



How to check it?

Just follow the Below steps..

1) First Open Powershell

2) After opening, type the following command on the box

$PSVersiontable




(or) $PSVersiontable.PSVersion

You will find the PSVersion text, on its straight right hand side  you can find the version.

Since Powershell version in Windows 10 is 5 by default, you dont need to install powershell latest version( Which is 5 while writing this post).

No, we dont need an software to update drivers in Windows 10. However, if you need to download

all drivers for windows 10 using a software , then you can search google or bing for Windows 10

update drivers free download and find some tools to install them. Ignore the payable items and

simply download freewares and that too a trusted one.. But i recommend you to install updates only

through device manager and windows updates, as it is the only one you can trust for sure.

How to update drivers in Windows 10 

Just follow the below steps..

1) Open device manager.

2) It will open device manager

3) On your device manager, it will see different options like Audio inputs and outputs, Batteries, Computer,etc.

4) Expand by clicking > this sign.

5) When you expand, you will see the appropriate driver for that device..

Right click on the driver, you will see different options like Update Driver Software, Uninstall, etc..

6) Select Update Driver Software.

"Search Automatically for Updated driver Software" and Browse my computer ...etc.

If you have already downloaded your driver like Intel or NVIDIA, simply click on browse

my computer for driver option and select the location of that driver,else

9) It will automatically download the relevant update through Windows Update now..

After it finish, you will see the driver was updated.

But when it comes to extended support, some of the options are limited , for example : you cannot

request a change in product, design,etc..., Non-security updates will be delivered only with extended

hotline support, and they will say no complimentary supports..


With Microsoft already releasing Upgrades in different forms like Windows 10 Creators Update, and

further builds in near future till 2020 every year..you can use your PC for sure till the extended

support end date.
