Communicating with customers in writing:

Now that we have discussed how important it is to be honest with your customers through your website, let’s take it to the next step – communications with those customers. Let’s assume a few things here for the purpose of illustrations and examples. First, let’s assume your main way of communicating with customers is in writing in either letters or emails.

No one likes to get a stiff, complicated and wordy business letter to read; especially if it is filled with acronyms, technical terms and jargon unfamiliar to the reader. When we get those, it usually tells us the author is stiff, serious and not a good communicator. Ever talk to an insurance salesman? Now be honest, how much did you REALLY understand of what he/she was saying? 10%? Maybe 20%? Don’t be like that to your customers! We should never allow our customers to think that of us if we are trying to sell them something! It furthers the misconception of the buyer that, “If I buy something from this guy, dealing with him will not be a pleasant experience.” They will most likely go elsewhere.

The best way to write any business correspondence is to write it the same way you would explain it to them in person. Practice it. It’s called “Conversational Writing” and has long been taught in good business schools everywhere. For some reason however, not everyone passed the course. Especially lawyers – they are trained to write thousands of words which mean absolutely nothing to the average Joe. That guarantees them that we must hire them to read and interpret what others (or they) write. Don’t make your customers feel like that! Be conversational and leave out complicated words, acronyms or jargon particular to your line of business. If you must use a “special” word, then make sure define it without demeaning them into feeling uninformed. They will be much more impressed with your ability to write plainly and clearly to them than they would be if you tried to “snow” them with overly complicated phrases or words, just to prove how smart you are. It will have the opposite effect, guaranteed.

Many have defined the perfect business letter as “Yellow, Red, Green.”
The first (YELLOW) part means put the greeting up front and briefly state what you will discuss with them and what you expect the letter to accomplish.

Next (the RED part) explain in detail (not too complicated) what you are writing about. Be specific and even add a series of steps for them to perform if necessary.
Thirdly comes the GREEN part. Thank them for their business and assure them that their business is important to you and your company. Leave them happy with a confirming statement.

That should produce a good business letter or email for you. Practice, practice, practice! Then re-read the letter to yourself as if you were the recipient. Is it plainly stated? Is it simple to understand and not contain unnecessary buzz words or technical jargon? Does it accomplish the goal you set for the when writing it in the first place? If you received it, how would you feel?

error i got when i tried to activate insiders program on my friends Windows 10 Laptop. If you are

searching this then, probably You must be the one who loves to tweak or customize your PC and the

one who loves to get the latest among others. So, i think you dont need a bit of introduction to what insider build means, so lets move to

the direct post.

Why/ When this error happens ?

You wish to join Insider program and you clicked the Join Insider Program button, you will be

prompted to enter into your Microsoft account, thats the process behind it.. Though you dont need

an Microsoft Account to use your Preview builds,When you understand the error it says you need to

sign-in using your Microsoft Account to fix the error.,

So, how to solve it..? Just

1) Open settings

2) Click on Accounts

3) click on Your Info

4) On your Right pane, you will see Sign-in using Microsoft Account Instead option

5) Click on it..

6) It will ask you to enter the email, Password enter it.

7) Follow the onscreen instructions

8) Go back to insider program window and click Fix.

It will work now..

If that failed, then try this

Resign-in to your Microsoft Account., this wont make sense but its what worked for me (when i

used insider builds on the beginning)...

9) Follow the above steps (1 to 3)

10) On your right pane, click on Sign-in using local account instead

11) Follow the onscreen instructions, and again follow solution 1.

You will it working now..

If everything fails, Restart your PC and try visiting insider.windows.com and click on get started and

then , it will sign-in using your Microsoft Account., You will get " Welcome to the program, insider

"screen which indicates you are now an insider.

Try Registry editor..

1) Open registry editor

2) Navigate to following Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsSelfHostApplicability

3) On your right pane, you can see EnableInsiderPreviewBuilds

4) Click on it and set its value 1.

Restart your PC and go to join insider program on settings, you can find it working now..

Top 10 Tips for Making Your Website Accessible

1. Choose a content management system that supports accessibility.

There are many content management systems available to help you build your website. Common examples include Dru pal and WordPress, but there are many other options available.

Once youve chosen a CMS that suits your needs, make sure to choose a theme/template that is accessible. Consult the themes documentation for notes on accessibility and tips for creating accessible content and layouts for that theme. Be sure to follow the same guidelines when selecting modules, plugins, or widgets.

For elements like editing toolbars and video players, make sure that they support creating accessible content. For example, editing toolbars should include options for headings and accessible tables, and video players should include closed captioning. The CMS administration options (such as creating a blog post or posting a comment) should be accessible as well.

2. Use headings correctly to organize the structure of your content.

Screen reader users can use heading structure to navigate content. By using headings (<h1>, <h2>, etc.) correctly and strategically, the content of your website will be well-organized and easily interpreted by screen readers.

Be sure to adhere to the correct order of headings, and separate presentation from structure by using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Do not pick a header just because it looks good visually (which can confuse screen reader users); instead, create a new CSS class to style your text.

Examples of proper use of headings:

Use <h1> for the primary title of the page. Avoid using an <h1> for anything other than the title of the website and the title of individual pages.
Use headings to indicate and organize your content structure.
Do not skip heading levels (e.g., go from an <h1> to an <h3>), as screen reader users will

Alt text should be provided for images, so that screen reader users can understand the message conveyed by the use of images on the page. This is especially important for informative images (such as infographics). When creating the alt text, the text should contain the message you wish to convey through that image, and if the image includes text, that text should also be included in the alt.

The exception to this rule is when an image is used purely for decoration; in this case, the alt text can be left empty so that the screen reader user is not distracted from the more important content on the page.

If an image is the only content of a link, the screen reader will read the file name if alt text is not provided. Always provide alt text for images that are used as links.

4. Give your links unique and descriptive names.

When including links in your content, use text that properly describes where the link will go. Using "click here" is not considered descriptive, and is ineffective for a screen reader user.

Just like sighted users scan the page for linked text, visually-impaired users can use their screen readers to scan for links. As a result, screen reader users often do not read the link within the context of the rest of the page. Using descriptive text properly explains the context of links to the screen reader user.

The most unique content of the link should be presented first, as screen reader users will often navigate the links list by searching via the first letter.

For example, if you are pointing visitors to a page called "About Us":

Try not to say: "Click here to read about our company."
Instead, say: "To learn more about our company, read About Us."

5. Use color with care.

The most common form of color deficiency, red-green color deficiency, affects approximately 8% of the population. Using ONLY colors such as these (especially to indicate required fields in a form) will prevent these individuals from understanding your message.

Other groups of people with disabilities, particularly users with learning disabilities, benefit greatly from color when used to distinguish and organize your content.

To satisfy both groups, use color, but also be sure to use other visual indicators, such as an asterisk or question mark. Be sure to also distinguish blocks of content from one another using visual separation (such as whitespace or borders).

6. Design your forms for accessibility.

When form fields are not labeled appropriately, the screen reader user does not have the same cues available as the sighted user. It may be impossible to tell what type of content should be entered into a form field.

Each field in your form should have a well-positioned, descriptive label. For example, if the field is for a persons name, it should be labeled appropriately as either "Full Name" or have two separate fields labeled as "First Name" and "Last Name." Use the <label> tag or an ARIA property (see tip #9) to associate the label text with the form field.

As you are going through a form field, a person should be able to tab through the form and fill out all the fields before getting to the "Submit" button, or they may not even realize that additional fields exist. Essentially, the tab order should follow the visual order.

If you have fields that are related or similar, consider grouping them together using fieldsets. For example, fields like "Full Name" and "Date of Birth" could be grouped together as "Personal Information." This type of form organization can help a screen reader user keep track of progress, and can provide the context that might be lost while filling out the form.

If certain form fields are required, the field should be labeled accordingly, and configured to alert the screen reader user. Commonly, required fields are noted as such with an asterisk, which will not be spoken by some screen readers. Asterisks (or similar visual indications) should still be used for sighted users, people with learning disabilities or people who speak English as a second language. Indicating that a field is required to a screen reader can be accomplished by adding ARIA required="true" and ARIA required="false" for optional fields. After submitting the form, user will need to be alerted to submission confirmation and any submission errors. We recommend including any error counts in the page title (after the user has submitted), so the user will immediately be informed that there are errors on the page. If a user submits a form with errors, the user should be brought to a submission page that indicates what the errors are, and provides an easy way to navigate to those errors.

A current process problem businesses have experienced is working to adapt their strategies towards the current culture of demanding everything right now through the internet. This includes the recent shift toward mobile browsing on phones and tablets. There are a lot of businesses created in an era where everything was brick and mortar. Now they have been forced to shift their process or fail. More and more people don’t want to leave their house to get what they need. They want everything at their fingertips. There has been a dramatic shift to online and mobile shopping. Companies like Blockbuster have had their entire business model made obsolete by Netflix and online streaming of TV shows and movies. This has resulted in Blockbuster announcing the closing of their stores earlier this month. While companies like Amazon have thrived off the shift and exists entirely online. Currently there are two main disadvantages to shopping online: waiting for the product to ship along with the cost of shipping and not being able to test out the product before buying. Programs like Amazon Prime have been introduced to cut down ship time and only charged one lump sum for all shipping each year.

Best Buy has made a dramatic shift to incorporate price matching in their stores. In recent years many shoppers have gone to Best Buy to try a product and once the right one was picked out they could go home and buy it for cheaper online. With the price match shift Best Buy believes they can regain the advantage by providing the same price as online shopping while also allowing the customer to take the product home on the same day without having to wait a week or so for the product to ship online. Similarly other companies are working to offset the disadvantage of having to wait for a product to ship by allowing the customer to pick it up for free at a store location.

When looking at businesses that have had success in this shift surprisingly is Netflix. They have had their share of missteps but recently they have experienced a large rebound. However going back a couple years their decision to provide streaming options for videos they changed an entire industry. By allowing people to watch the movies they wanted without having to go to the video store or wait for a disc to ship they gave people the best of everything. It also had its own advantage over TV by not having any commercials or ads to annoy the viewer. It was the best service they could possibly provide. This strategy was also able to translate to mobile phones and tablets through the use of their app giving people the option of watching on the go or at home. Their success eventually led to Netflix overestimating themselves and alienated a large portion of their customers but by sticking to their model they slowly have risen back up. Now their next focus is producing their own TV shows that normally would air on HBO or AMC. Netflix wants to shift the way people watch TV by releasing all the episodes at once and allowing people to watch at their own pace. The price to buy these shows is not cheap and can cost as much as $100 million. The success of this venture will determine if this is the trend of the future or another flop that sets Netflix back.

Recently, my friend had a strange issue on his PC. His Windows 10 PC had automatically wakes

itself from sleep and after shutdown. At some point, he became lament and started saying things like

Machines have developed intelligence and they are gonna kill us( like in the movie i,Robot) i had

similar issue in the past,so i suggested him a solution that worked and to decide why Windows 10

Wakes from sleep by itself

if you are experiencing similar problem like as said earlier, then i recommend you to first check

whether some service wakes your PC from sleep or Shutdown like automatic maintanenace.

You need to understand the main thing responsible for waking Windows 10 from Sleep happens

because of several reasons like Improper power management for devices, and some options like

"Allow this device to wake up from device" is checked( you can find the option using device

manager). Normally, such operations are performed by devices like Keyboard and mouse but

sometimes our Windows 10 device will wake up even when we hadnt touched any device( no

physical contact??)

So,my first recommendation( based on my experience) is to run the following command on your

Command prompt or Powershell, based on the result, you can decide whether you have some

problems with the software ( You can view or change that in task scheduler library. when you

think updateorchestrator wakes your computer or Svchost waking Windows 10 computer )

1) Open CMD

3) Hit enter

It should display the result "There are no active wake timers in the System" which shows, no

service is waking your System from Sleep

On the Other hand, if you have a different result like [Timer set by [Service]........etc ] message then its confirm that your Windows 10 PC automatically wakes from Sleep because of that service

you can undo the task by visiting the task scheduler - > Properties ->Conditions tab ->

Uncheck the Wake the computer to run this task option -> Apply -> OK
