Renault Clip software is always tested ok in Windows XP system. But XP system is kind of out of date. Nowadays, most use Windows 7 64 bit. To run CLIP on WIN 7 or not, that’s a question of luck.
Here are users feedback on can clip windows 7 64 bit, some successful & some failed:
– Works fine on win7 x86.
– Yes, Can Clip runs on Windows 7-x64 and Windows 8….8.1-x64 m because use x-86 files from the system.

– The Clip software itself works with 64bit version of Windows 7 but the hardware won’t.. Simply because the there are no 64bit drivers for SONDE can clip..

-Try disable driver signature enforsment in win 64bit..that help many times

alliance = works both on 32 and 64 bit os

How to download and save ecu data in Renault CAN CLIP
I have the reprogramming feature with the can clip v160. I cannot see where to download and save the existing ecu data as a file. either as a backup or to save and send off for remapping.
And here is all user suggestion... Should be ok i think. Wish tips below help anyone also.

Definitely yes. i have some experience with s3000 which is on petrol models after 2003 inc 2.0t sport on megane version and read manually by mpps .
i resolder obd and give 14v supply to the ecu and the mpps v12 (chinees clone) but always use supply over +13v cause the interface burning the can chip

So finding that command depends on the ecu, diesel have, petrol might not have.

100 solved Renault can clip “No Sensor Detected” diyobd2
This is the best solution from pros of Renault CAN CLIP error “No Sensor Detected, check the sensor connections and ensure that the supply to the vehicle is correct, then try again.”
Reasons for “No Sensor Detected”:
The error message pops up usually when run CLIP at the beginning, which means the the software cannot recognize the Renault CAN CLIP diagnostic interface
Solved by pros!
First, please check the Renault CLIP driver installation:
CLIP driver installation completes after running Crack Renault CLIP, installing Renault CLIP software, setting up CLIP properties, registering CLIP.
Here goes to install CAN CLIP v163/v162driver software....
The driver software is automatically installed
Open computer management
select Device manager->Bosch automotive service solution device->18-alliance vehicle communication interface
close Computer management
Open Display properties
Go to screen saver->power and setup:
power scheme: Always on
Turn off monitor: never, never
Turn off hard disk: never, never
System standby: never, never
Click on Apply, then OK to exit
if the driver has been set up as above, try run CLIP again. If the error message remains, please try the solutions below.
Second, check the connection of the renault can clip diagnostic tool and the car.
Using the obdii cable to connect the can clip unit to the obd port on the car
And if all is well connected, the four LEDs should be lighted.

Something interesting about Renault ZOE charging system test in the cold conditions, test using the Renault can clip diagnostic tool.
An electric vehicle doesn’t react the same way to cold as an internal-combustion vehicle. Renault ZOE doesn’t use oil or gas, so engineers don’t have to monitor these items. But other Renault ZOE components required particular attention during cold weather testing.
First of all, had to examine how cold weather conditions affect the battery, notably in terms of:
Capacity: a very cold battery doesn’t fully charge. It can be compared to a fuel tank that contracts in the cold. The result is, of course, reduced range.
Power: a cold battery cannot provide all the power required by the motor, reflected in weaker acceleration.
Charge: an overly cold battery cannot be charged too fast, making for longer “quick” charging times. Cold, however, has no impact on standard charging, via a Wall-Box.
Also had to check the charging system using Renault can clip diagnostic tool:
The charging socket has to remain accessible (flap not blocked in freezing weather)
The cable has to be flexible enough to be rolled up at any time
The cable must not remain blocked in the socket.
Our first conclusions on Renault ZOE’s results: At -25°C, Renault ZOE is fully functional and drops in performance are almost unnoticeable. The battery performs very well in cold conditions from this point of view.
More noticeable in cold conditions is reduced range, but Renault ZOE remains one of the best mass-produced electric vehicles in this respect, thanks in particular to its reversible heat pump, which reduces heating consumption in cold weather and generates approximately 2kW of cooling or 3kW of heat with just 1kW of electricity.

Here are some customer solutions of Can Clip Renault firmware update stops at 20%, some solved by files rename and some by CLIP pcb reword.
Solution I said 100% working:
For those who have a Chinese Can clip that remain stuck at 20% on the update of the firmware here is the procedure to stop the worries and can again use the Clip device.
Must rename the following files:
C: CLIP DATA APPLI PARAMS appliiso.s19 in appliiso.bak
C: CLIP DATA APPLI PARAMS applican.s19 in applican.bak
tested by myself work 100%
Solution II:
if firmware update stops at 20% the solution is very easy
Exist some problems in hardware ... ISO pcb or CAN pcb
For bypass that error search for 2 files APLIISO.S19 and APLIICAN.S19 and rename this files to .bak one time ISO ...start the soft and ceck .... and one time CAN and restrt the soft and ceck...and you see where is the problem CAN hardware or ISO hardware....

Exist some problems in hardware ... ISO pcb or CAN pcb

If you have renamed the right file no more firmware stop at 20% but the problem on hardware remain and is possible use the interface only for ISO or only for CAN vehicles.....or put the interface in trash !!!!
BUT, some say the exactly reasons for 20% update problem is not the software problem!It’s HARDWARE problem with your clone CLIP sonde. You probably have bad flash chip or bad soldering, or bad oscillator, or, ... you name it, but anyway as I said its pure hardware problem. You can avoid firmware update for ISO or CAN board with renaming few files, but that is not solution because if you cant update firmware, your CLIP will not work properly.
Solution III:
Besides two pcbs inside Clip (can and iso) there is small thrid pcb where is round connector for car cable . When this cable is plugged and unplugged to Clip very often ( which needs a little force ), then solderings on metal pins which links this small pcb with rest of clip are breaking with the time.
You just need to resolder connections of these pins.
I did it and it solve update 20% problem
