I have a cheaper lexia 3 citroen peugeot diagnostic tool (sp08-d) for only €52 and there are missing some chip, compared to the original one.

Communicated with the vendor, they say the cheap lexia 3 is designed with this kind of board as what i got.
On original interface "those caps" are resitors (473) 47k - R5 and R6. Optocouplers seems to be HCPL-063N-000E and HCPL-0500-000E. Also the filter from USB input is ACM2012D-900-2P (TDK) - most of clones have not this USB filter (2 resistors of 0 ohms are used).
On relay pcb the round red component is a varistor and original is V18ZA40P (in most clones is blue and have not the same specifications as the red one).
On relay pcb there is another optocoupler ZJYS51R5-2PT-01 (TDK) on the edge area near relays used for VAN BUS.

He tells me, there mainly are two kinds of Chinese Lexia3 from different factories. One cheaper but lack some chips, the other with full chips of high quality.

Big thanks to DIYOBD2.FR, with lots of info to help me. Finally, i adapted his advice and decided to exchange the cheap Lexia 3 for a high-quality Lexia 3 (sp08-c) with a bit more money. It works like a charm now.

PSA Lexia 3 DiagBox PC and Network Requirements
Here is the Lexia 3 Diagnox software requirement of PC (windows system, RAM, controller type) and network connection.
First, Diagbox had better work on Windows 32-bit system.
Ensure you are using 32 bit Windows and you can use Windows XP, 7, Vista, 8/8.1 or 10. All work...
Windows Installation:
Install a clean Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit #, activate it and install the following tools:
- a) Install VirtualBox Guest Additions or VMWare Tools after installing Windows if installing on Virtual Machine.
- b) Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework (needed for DiagBox 7.60+)
- c) All necessary drivers (usually covered by the Guest Additions/VMWare Tools)
- d) Setup a network adapter (does not need to be connected to network)
- e) Mozilla Firefox
- f) Java 6 or 7 (not necessary)
- g) 7zip or Winrar
- h) Virtual Clonedrive (not needed for Virtual Machines)
Also, Virtual Machine is ok...
Install VirtualBox or VMplayer and the extensions/tools ensuring the following:
- a) Ensure that the Hard Disk controller is set to IDE not SCSI.
- b) Create a preferably fixed hard drive 20-36GB preferably contiguous, Dynamic also works. (Win XP needs less resources than 10)
- c) Connect the Windows ISO through the Settings -> Storage menu.
- d) Install VirtualBox Guest Additions or VMWare Tools after installing Windows.
Note: A Virtual Machine (VM) software is usually used on a computer running Windows 64bit or Linux, with Virtualization capable CPU, 4GB+ RAM and lots of Hard Disk space; the more the merrier. It allows the user to create a virtual computer hardware (choose number of CPUs, amount of RAM and Hard Disk space) in order to install a new operating system and applications on the VM without interfering with system that is running or real computer. (I5 + 4GB RAM + 20GB HD is OK for Win XP 32bit). It can be easily cloned or deleted.
Second, focus on the RAM and controller type.
You could mention how much RAM (if you bought the computer with 32 bit, then it is likely to be 4GB) and Disk space you have.
But it is most likely the Disk and if you wish to change the controller type (BIOS/UEFI):
1- Create a small partition (10 mb) on the Disk Drive of the type wanted, and/or change it through Disk Management.
2- Format it and let the computer recognise it (this is for Windows to download the appropriate drivers).
3- Now you can change the Disk controller type (in BIOS) and reboot from you original Disk.
4- Remove the small partition you created.
If you dont do the above steps, you wont be able to boot. There are other steps between the above ones, but they are the main points.
Having said that, I would install Windows 10 64 bit, then install VirtualBox (fast and free) or VMWare player (free and good compatibility) and you will have a lot of advantages using 32 bit Windows XP as it requires few resources.
Third, you dont need to be connected to the internet to use the Lexia3 device...

- Disconnect the network cable/connection.
2. Create a blank file named version.txt and saved to the root directory i.e “C:version.txt” (This step may not be necessary with newer DiagBox versions).
3. Mount the DiagBox 7.02 ISO and run the setup, go through the process. At some stage, "new hardware found" message will appear, do not choose to search automatically for drivers, you may cancel it or just manually select the driver that should now be available.
4. Start DiagBox and when prompted for activation, choose the "manual activation" option, fill-in information as per the provided instructions. DiagBox will start as v7.01.
5. Reboot the computer and restart DiagBox again, it will run the internet updates (even if not connected to the net) and will open as V7.02.
